Marlena Maduro Baraf, born and raised in Panama, now lives and works in New York. She studied at Occidental College in Los Angeles and Parsons School of Design in New York where she is principal at an interior design firm. Marlena also worked as Editor with the McGraw-Hill Book Company and has been active in the Sarah Lawrence College writing community. Her work has appeared in the Westchester Review, Blue Lyra Review, Lumina, and other publications. She blogs the Soy/Somos series with LatinoVoices at the Huffington Post, deeply committed to creating a real-life collage of Latinos in the US.
